Not news: Ex-computer tycoon goes to Latin America, lives on armed compound. News: it isn't Jeff Berwick.

Last night I found a hilarious and interesting story about a computer pioneer who sold off his company, moved to Latin America, went insane and now lives on an armed compound.

Here's the glorious story of John McAfee, which would be hilarious and interesting if it didn't also have a strong undercurrent of madness and paranoia.

  1. If you thought the story in the article was hilarious and interesting, you should really check out the comment section where the author was emailed a link by a reader to a Russian forum website that has a dude with the handle "stuffmonger" on some sort of quest for the holy grail of aphrodisiac drugs: tan MDPV. If you follow the thread: http://www.bluelight.ru/vb/threads/541627-Hello-and-an-MDPV-Question/page1
this guy mentions he resides in Central America and has his own hobby chem lab.

The article about the aftermath of the police raid in another website has a comment from a handle called "stuffmonger" who is talking first person as McAfee. Coincidence?

    1. Yeah, saw that in the comments at Fark. It could be worse, he could be peddling Ayn Rand and junior miners.
